A Cooking Class Makes the New Year Sizzle

If your New Year's resolution involves eating better or saving money, then learning how to cook would be a good start, because it can help you accomplish both of those goals. Find out how at the Cook Street School of Fine Cooking’s Kitchen Basics class, where "you'll learn simple, multi-course meals and get a basic introduction to the foundation and techniques of cooking," says Terry Freeman, chief operating officer of the cooking school. The class also provides a mellow environment for people who are truly clueless in the kitchen or intimidated by cooking. Students will learn to better utilize their resources, including pantry staples, and the menu is broken down into simple parts "that will make you look like a rock star to your friends and family,” Freeman adds.
