Resolute Run

Most people are waiting until tomorrow to kick off their resolutions for the New Year, but you can get a jump start tonight — and sweat off some of those holiday calories — at the Frozen Buns 5K Resolution Run in Crested Butte. Starting at 5 p.m. at the Crested Butte Chamber Visitors Center, 601 Elk Avenue, the sunset run winds toward Peanut Lake and is lit by tiki torches, glow sticks, flashlights and alpenglow along the way. At the halfway point, runners can drop a piece of paper listing their resolutions for the year into a small cauldron of fire and partake in hot chocolate, cider and cookies; there's also an "Are We There Yet?" one-mile run for resolute children.
