Chuck Pyle Finds Higher Ground

Everyone from John Denver to the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band has recorded Chuck Pyle's songs. But it's Pyle's adopted home that he's most proud of, as heard on his new CD, Higher Ground, a collection of old and new tunes about Colorado that displays his rich, emotive songwriting as much as his love of the land and people of the Centennial State.

“A song called 'Little Town Tour' says it all," Pyle explains. "The heart and soul of our great state is rural, where conservation easements and land-trust movements have preserved the habitat and the beauty. Our portion of the Great Plains has always been an inspiration with its farming, its ranching communities and its people who love their land."

Pyle celebrates the release of Higher Ground tonight at 8 p.m. at Swallow Hill Music, 71 East Yale Avenue. Admission to the all-ages show is $22, with a $2 discount for Swallow Hill members. For tickets and info, call 303-777-1003 or visit www.swallowhillmusic.org.
