A Brave New Cracker

Two decades after David Lowery left Camper Van Beethoven and joined Johnny Hickman to form Cracker, the two will pare down their already basic signature alt-rock sound to the bare acoustic bones tonight for a Cracker Unplugged show at the usually folksy Swallow Hill Music Hall, 71 East Yale Avenue. In this welcome and brave departure from the venue’s usual programming, you can expect unplugged versions of such classic grungy Cracker hits as “Teen Angst (What the World Needs Now)” and "Low," along with newly penned, well-crafted, rootsy tunes from the duo’s 2009 release Sunrise in the Land of Milk and Honey.
