Catch Some Waves

Electronics geeks, it’s time to come out of the basement. Your day in the sun will commence when the fourth Vintage Voltage Expo opens for business this morning at the Ramada Plaza Convention Center, 10 East 120th Avenue in Northglenn. The expo, organized by promoter Dana Cain, will feature approximately eighty vendors of vintage stereos, turntables, antique radios, classic guitars, vinyl records and other old-school electronics from across Colorado and the region, and everyone from DJs looking for equipment to collectors of a certain age should have a field day. “This is like the social event of the year for some of these people,” Cain says. “Some of them beg me to do more than one a year.”

Cain, who’s also known for her new-agey Athena Fest, adds that the Vintage Voltage Expo is also a man-bonding holiday. “This show is almost exclusively for guys,” she says. “It’s what the Athena Fest is for women.”

Plug in to Vintage Voltage from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.; admission is $5 at the door (free for children under twelve). For more details, call 303-347-8252 or go to www.danacain.com.
Sun., March 28, 10 a.m.-3 p.m., 2010
