Stadenco at the Funky Buddha

A little taste of the New York underground will come to Denver this Saturday, March 27, when Stadenco appears at the Funky Buddha. The DJ has been honing his craft ever since he was a toddler lugging around a portable record player and playing his favorite tunes for anyone who would sit still long enough to listen. He studied production and engineering at the Berklee College of Music in Boston before moving to New York and falling in love with house music in 2001. Since then, he's been busy refining a deep and dirty take on house and techno that sounds like the distilled essence of a drugged-up, blissed-out all-night dance marathon, the kind that leaves you sweaty, sore and wholly satisfied. The tunes he favors incorporate echoing vocal snatches, bits of tribal drumming, smart synth work and just enough melody to stitch the whole thing together. Stadenco's work has put him on the same stage as Danny Howells, Damian Lazarus and Stacey Pullen, and if there's any justice in this world, it's just a matter of time before he ascends to the A-list of superstar DJs.
