Button Up

If you’ve ever seen Office Space, you already know that “flair” refers to the use of pinback buttons (the more the better) as a way to express yourself. But who knew that the actual button-making process could be so much fun? All it takes is a pin-sized message or recycled image you like; give it a whirl in an ingenious machine that encapsulates the image on a blank pinback and swiftly inserts the pin, and – voilà! — you’re ready to pin a little piece of yourself on your lapel. Or wherever. Denver entrepreneur and fashionista Tran Wills, who invested in the pricey equipment needed to create buttons of different sizes, is more than happy to share the joy of flair, and she’ll be directing traffic today for The New Minimum: 37 Pieces of Flair, a free Denver Public Library Fresh City Life workshop.
