Riff and Ready
There's no shortage of comedians who make a significant portion of their living by poking fun at people more famous than they are. Still, the roundtable on E!'s Chelsea Lately is a cut-up above. On her weeknight show, host Chelsea Handler brings together a regular cast of comics, sticks them around a table and lets them try to out-riff each other while tackling the entertainment news and gossip of the day. Consider them the Super Fiends of comedy.
Not content to merely hold down a chair in the studio, four of the show's regulars — Jo Koy, Jen Kirkman and the Sklar Brothers — are touring together as the Comedians of Chelsea Lately. As a bonus, the program's hilarious sidekick, the man known only as Chuy, also makes a guest appearance. The troupe's live performance has plenty of the friendly competitiveness and one-upmanship of the show — and as we all know, when it comes to supplying grist for the satire mill, the celebrity world never sleeps.
