“As a Colorado landmark and the oldest standing structure in Denver, we like to support Colorado companies and artists, and this event allows them to promote their products, plus it allows us to introduce the park to a different demographic than normally attends our heritage events, which are more family-oriented,” says Beth Eagen, director of special events. The festival will uncork grapes from Augustina’s Winery (Boulder), Bonacquisti Wine Company (Denver), Dithyramb Winery and Meadery (Centennial), Desert Moon Vineyards (Englewood), Snowy Peaks Winery (Estes Park), Spero Winery (Denver) and Ciatano Winery (Lyons), break open beers from the Wynkoop Brewery and pour cocktails concocted with vodka, rum and whiskey from Downslope Distilling.

And just in case you need to sober up for the stagger home, several caterers, including Occasions by Sandy and the Food Guy, as well as EvoBean, a local paean to java, will be on hand to make sure you’re well fed and high on caffeine. Corks runs from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the park, 715 South Forest Street. Unlimited sipping and grazing is $30 per person ($25 if you’re an FMHP member); for info and reservations, dial 720-865-0815.
