“We do these tours because they prove that really good food is made so close to us, and our guests love experiencing that local food connection,” says the Truffle’s Karin Lawler, who owns the shop with her husband, Rob. The bus tour, which originates at the cheese shop, includes a buffet lunch — “lots of local, seasonal produce, cheeses from the dairy and Colorado and more cheeses and charcuterie from the Truffle,” says Lawler — a cheesemaking demonstration and up-close-and-personal meetings with farm dogs, alpacas, chickens and ducks. “You can actually pet the same goat that you got your cheese from,” says Lawler.

The tour runs from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. the cost is $60 per person, and kids are welcome. Make reservations at 303-322-7363.
