More About
This really is a great summer party with fantastic live music and some of the best food in Denver, says zoo spokesman Sean Andersen-Vie. The annual shindig, which turns 21 this year, makes us officially old enough to drink at our own event, he jokes. Denver restaurants, including Beatrice & Woodsley, Duo, Encore, Kevin Taylors at the Opera House, India House, Parallel Seventeen, the Palm, Olivea, TAG, Steubens and Tambien, will dish out grub amply supplemented with beer from MillerCoors and Great Divide, plus cocktails and wine. And just in case youre stewing over what to wear, stylish animal prints are highly encouraged, since theres a best-dressed cockTAIL attire contest with a $500 shopping-spree prize. Tickets to the benefit, which raises funds to support conservation efforts, including Asian Tropics, a massive elephant exhibit, range from $125 to $400 and can be purchased at www.denverzoo.org. The Do begins at 6 p.m. for VIP guests, 7 p.m. for general-admission ticket holders.
