Starting and ending at Invesco Field at Mile High, that terrain includes a grueling climb up Lookout Mountain for a total elevation change of 4,050 feet, some white-knuckle downhill through Red Rocks Park, and plenty of scenery to chew on along the way. The century ride starts at 5:30 a.m. There are also scaled-back options, including a 100K metric century (62 miles) that starts at 6 a.m. and follows most of the 100-mile route, and a 22-mile Fathers Day Family Fun ride (8:30 a.m.) that mostly sticks to the Platte River Trail bike paths.
The event benefits BikeDenver and Bicycle Colorado, as well as Denvers Road Home, the Rocky Mountain Childrens Law Center, and the Davis Phinney Foundation for Parkinsons Disease. Registration for the century and metric century rides is $70. The Family Fun Ride is $55 for adults and $35 for children under fourteen. Pre-register at www.denvercenturyride.com.
