Once a standup comedian with jokes about a variety of topics, Zane Lamprey is now a comedian who jokes only about drinking. Which is okay with him. Give credit to Lamprey’s TV show, Three Sheets, in which he visits locations all over the world and, you know, drinks. Lamprey says he fell into that gig when he auditioned for a different show on the Food Network and the execs found his style too edgy. They did, however, like him for Three Sheets – and the rest is history. “I do investigative reporting about alcohol,” he jokes. “After a while, I just chose to say, ‘This is it, I’m the drinking guy.’”

Now taking a break from Three Sheets to work on a show called Drinking Made Easy with HDNet (it’s a similar show, except “domestic instead of international,” he says), Lamprey is coming to the Ogden Theater tonight on the Drinking Made Easy comedy tour, which HDNet is filming for an hour-long special -- and Lamprey invites you to participate. “We’ll all be on our A-game,” he promises.
