There are some things in life you just cant wash right out of your hair, and one of those is the quintessential Broadway musical South Pacific, which, along with such shows as Oklahoma! and West Side Story, pretty much writes the book on what it takes to succeed on the Great White Way. Nostalgia for this kind of staging will be in full force when a new touring production of the worlds greatest chestnut of World War II-driven song-and-dance plays the Buell Theatre, and in this case, its fully warranted: The Tony Award-sweeping revival, replete with knockout renditions of Im Gonna Wash That Man Right Outa My Hair, Bali Hai and There Is Nothin Like a Dame, is touted to be a knockout. South Pacific will be at the Buell, located in the Denver Performing Arts Complex, daily except Mondays through August 1. Ticket prices range from $15 to $125; for reservations and information, visit www.denvercenter.org or call 303-893-4100.
