But tonight is YesPleaseMores turn to really shine. The store will host a YesPleaseMore Swap-n-Shop event from 7 to 9 p.m., with crafting demos by members of the Denver Handmade Alliance, an Artist Trading Card workshop with Denver found-object artist/collector Jerry Simpson and, of course, the main feature: a white elephant swap, featuring tables of objects, art materials and art elements for trading.
Since the show is about object love, and walking around and seeing all of its found-object installations can be inspiring to artists, I thought it would be great for them to be able to collect materials and trade out the ones theyre not using while theyre here, says pop-up store maven Samuel Schimek. And because of how heavy and fun the DIY culture is here in Denver, its nice to be able to showcase it during the Biennial.
Objectophilia and Swap-n-Shop are at 1490 Delgany Street; get details at www.biennialoftheamericas.org/events/month/7/day/21.
