Das Racist

Das Racist got famous by recording a song called "Combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell," which is basically made up of the line "I'm at the Pizza Hut/I'm at the Taco Bell/I'm at the combination Pizza Hut and Taco Bell." There's also something in the middle there about "pizza butt," which we want no part of. Lots of people called the dudes idiots, pretentious people called them accidental pop-culture geniuses, and then it turned out that maybe they are actual geniuses because they got into a cartoon-off with the New Yorker and unequivocally kicked the magazine's ass. They announced a cover show of Paul's Boutique where they just played the CD and fucked around on stage. In an ensuing critical essay, they called this "performance kicking it." Lost in the shuffle of joking/commentating is that the two are actually really good rappers when they try. And occasionally, they do.
