If Heidi Montags recently enhanced body parts arent a family-friendly enough reason to explore her homeland (shes a Crested Butte native), maybe a dose of good old-fashioned arts and crafts will do the trick. This weekend, the little mountain resort town once again puts on the Crested Butte Peoples Fair, now in its twentieth year.

Hosted since its inception by the towns Paragon Gallery, the festival is more than a convenient excuse for the Buttes artsy to hawk their wares (though seventy booths selling local arts and crafts will be in attendance). The fair also features a book sale courtesy of the Crested Butte Friends of the Library; CDs for $1 from KBUT, the local public-radio outlet; live music and plenty of mountain-town charm. Besides, points out Paragons Carson Elliott, Its a good opportunity to get out of the city for the weekend.
Make it happen, starting today from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and tomorrow during the same hours (Sunday also features a farmers market), simply by showing up near the intersection of Third Street and Elk Avenue, the towns main drag.
