Wicked, Bro

If that slutty-nurse costume is losing its luster, then perhaps it’s time to class it up a little this Halloween — and what better way to do that than with a stage adaptation of one of the best literary classics related to Halloween of all time? It’s Ray Bradbury’s Something Wicked This Way Comes, and there’s no better time of year for it.

And this isn’t just any stage adaptation: This one’s got the personal approval of none other than Bradbury himself, who, as everyone knows, is the sexiest of science fiction writers. As part of the adaptation process, an Aurora Fox Theatre dynamic trio comprising Jenn Orf, El Armstrong and Charles Packard, the Fox’s crack stage team, flew out to L.A. to consult with Bradbury — which made sense, given that the only other stage adaptation of Something Wicked ever produced in the U.S. was directed by Bradbury himself. “He gave us his official blessing,” says Fox marketing director Patricia Wells.

It’s coming tonight to the Aurora Fox Theatre, 9900 East Colfax Avenue, and continues through Halloween, showing at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 2 p.m. Sundays, through October 31. Tickets are $20 to $24; for more information, call 303-739-1970 or log on to www.aurorafox.org.
Fridays, Saturdays, 7:30 p.m.; Sundays, 2 p.m. Starts: Oct. 1. Continues through Oct. 31, 2010
