Muse

Saturday, October 2, Pepsi Center, 303-830-8497.

Where does a band go after winning the O2 Silver Clef Award and being presented that award by its rock-and-roll heroes, Roger Taylor and Brian May of Queen? What more could your band ever hope to hear after Roger Taylor called your project "probably the greatest live act in the world today"? Muse bears that burden in the middle of touring in support of its latest album, The Resistance. Apparently, plenty of people agree with Taylor, as Muse is mostly playing stadiums and arenas these days. The band's fusion of Radiohead-inflected alternative rock and more classical sensibilities garnered attention from an international audience beginning with its 1999 debut album, Showbiz. Known for extravagant stage shows, Muse may play huge theaters, but it doesn't skimp when it comes to its fans.
