RedLine Brings the House

Artistic diversity will be in full effect when the RedLine resident artists’ exhibition, Cross Ties Across Time, opens tonight with a reception at the gallery and continues through November 22. This year’s group show, curated by RedLiner Terry Campbell, is host to nineteen artists working in various media, five of whom are rookies to RedLine’s roster. The five new members, who participate in community outreach programs as a part of their residency with RedLine, bring together a wide range of experience and disciplines, juxtaposing styles, media and genres, from the abstract and intuitive to the calculated and intellectual.

Beau Carey’s landscape paintings will rub shoulders with Theresa Clowes’s textile compositions and Sarah Wallace Scott’s multi-dimensional contemplations on humanity’s relation to nature. Joel Swanson will showcase new-media works investigating language alongside Derrick Velasquez’s circular installations that explore social connections.

The reception runs from 6 to 10 p.m. at RedLine, 2350 Arapahoe Street. For more information, call 303-296-4448 or visit www.redlineart.org.
