“At one point I counted, and we had close to 200 lumberjacks who had joined up with us,” she says. “People who hadn’t dressed up went out to their cars and grabbed utility gloves and were like, ‘I’m ready to join.’ There were so many enthusiastic people, how could we not do it again?”

So prepare for All Jacked Up: Second Annual Lumberjack Crawl, which kicks off tonight from the Ginn Mill. “We’ve done our homework as far as calling ahead to the bars,” Nichols notes. “Last year the bartenders were really surprised, so this year we’re trying to do due diligence.” Which also means drink specials for lumberjacks: The Ginn Mill is offering $2 Coors Lights and $3 Lumberjack shots. “I was like, ‘What’s a Lumberjack?’ And they were like, ‘We’re going to make it up,’” she says.

Whatever it is, it’s bound to put hair on your chest.

“It’s all about having a great time and looking good while doing it,” Nichols concludes. Don your best plaid, suspenders and stubble, grab your ax and your favorite blue ox, and plan to be at the Ginn Mill, 2041 Larimer Street, at 7:30 p.m. The crawl continues to four other bars.
