Anarchy Revolution

Greg Graffin might be best known in some circles as the lead singer of Bad Religion, but he also has a Ph.D. and teaches several classes at UCLA. Rather amazingly, he has combined these worlds in his new book, co-written with author Steve Olson.

Anarchy Evolution: Faith, Science, and Bad Religion in a World Without God is equal parts memoir, manifesto and science text. The title might be a little over-the-top, but Graffin's view isn't as much about atheism as it is about looking at science and culture without God in the picture. "I think if we talk about naturalism, it's more important and interesting of a discussion as we move forward," Graffin says. "When we put our minds to it, we have a lot of serious issues confronting us, and whether or not you believe in God isn't the most important one."

Graffin will be in town to make a short presentation and sign and take questions about the book at 6 p.m. at the Tattered Cover LoDo, 1638 16th Street. Admission is free, but seating is limited, with tickets being given out on a first-come, first-served basis. For more information, call 303-436-1070 or visit www.tatteredcover.com.
