Get Edgy With Outdoor Divas

“In an ideal world, you’d wax your skis or snowboard every time you went out on the hill,” says Kim Walker, owner of Outdoor Divas. “Most people get lazy about it, but it’s the single easiest thing you can do to have more fun out there and lengthen the life of your equipment.” Get off to a good start tonight with Wax and Wine, which includes demonstrations from the shop's resident divas.

The demos and drinks are free (and open to dudes as well as divas), but take the opportunity to stock up on winter gear for yourself or the bad-ass babe you’ll be hitting the slopes with this season: 15 percent of tonight’s sales will support Outward Bound Denver’s mission to inspire the next generation through challenging outdoor adventures.

“Everyone I know who loves outdoor sports was first introduced to those activities by somebody else — if not by a friend or family member, then by an organization like Outward Bound,” Walker says. “Those of us whose lives have been transformed by getting outside and challenging ourselves know how important it can be to a young person to have those same kinds of experiences.” The event starts at 7 p.m. at Walker’s Cherry Creek shop, 2717 East Third Avenue. RSVP to events@outdoordivas.com.
