Get Jingly with It

If you didn’t get all the holiday adrenaline out of your system fighting for your life on Black Friday, lace some jingle bells into your sneakers and make a run for it today at the nineteenth annual Jingle Bell Run in Washington Park.

“We’re encouraging people to come dressed up in holiday-themed costumes, so you’ll be running with Santa, Mrs. Claus, Frosty, and a bunch of elves and reindeer, jingling all over the place,” says Arthritis Foundation spokesman Brad Jesse. “A lot of people consider it a holiday tradition. We provide the jingle bells.”

You’ll also get a race bib and T-shirt and a nice jingling ringing in your ears to help you zone out on all the holiday Muzak carols being piped into stores over the next two weeks.

Registration for the run ($30 adults, $15 youth and seniors) starts at 8 a.m. in the gym at South High School, 1700 East Louisiana Avenue, and benefits the Arthritis Foundation’s Rocky Mountain Chapter. “The money we raise goes to research for the prevention, control and cure of arthritis, and every little bit helps,” Jesse says. The race starts at 10:15 a.m. For pre-registration and more information, visit www.jinglebellrundenver.org.
