Family Affair

"Kids are king of the hill this week," says Keystone Resort spokesman Ryan Whaley, the biggest kid on the mountain. "Wait until you see the Kidtopia snow fort this year -- it's humongous!"

More About

Kidtopia Family Week activities run December 27 through January 2 at Keystone and include a New Year's Eve torchlight parade through the village, but the main event takes place tonight. Ride the gondola up to the summit of Dercum Mountain to watch the New Year’'s fireworks from the Kidtopia snow fort, take the kids tubing in the glittery glow of a giant disco ball, and check out the new Adventure Point kids' terrain park. They're keeping the lights on until 8 p.m. so your family can end the evening with night-skiing runs and hot cocoa. The Kidtopia events in the village are free; activities on the mountain are included with lift tickets, with the exception of Disco Tubing ($29/hour, and worth every penny). Visit www.KeystoneKidtopia.com for more info.

"We're also introducing a new Family First Tracks offer for Kidtopia this year," Whaley says. "Families with kids can get up on the mountain an hour before the lifts officially open so the little ones can appreciate what making a fresh start to the New Year is all about."
