Making His Mark

One tattoo artist, 900 tattoos and 24 hours to break a world record. Local tattoo artist Kaos will set up shop tonight at the Hyatt Regency DTC, 7800 East Tufts Avenue, for a marathon inking session – an attempt to break the world record of 801 tattoos in a single day. But that’s not Kaos’s only goal. By dubbing the event “Save the Boobies,” he hopes to increase breast cancer awareness, tattooing survivors and supporters with the recognizable pink ribbon for just $10 each.

“We need skin,” jokes P66 marketing coordinator Sheila Hydle, whose brother, Jeremy Hydle, owns P66, a new tattoo shop on Kalamath Street. And while “Save the Boobies” will culminate with Kaos tattooing himself as the ball drops at midnight, he still needs 899 other people in order to really smash the existing record. Reservations are encouraged, but not required; to book in advance, go to www.p66tattoo.com or call 720-629-2671.
