In the hallowed halls of things that are very, very serious, there are some questions upon whose resolution our societys very survival depends. Serious questions. Very serious questions. Definitively answering those questions has long been the venerable mission of Buntport Theater which has previously resolved such weighty issues as the question of which is better, bacon or Kevin Bacon (the latter, by the way) and tonight, the company tackles yet another serious, serious topic in The Great Debate: Kafkaesque Moments or Freudian Slips.

A Kafkaesque moment is, like, uh, what would you even call it? Buntports Evan Weissman muses, proving the extent of his expertise. In spite of his informed opinions, though, Weissman says hell leave the deciding to tonights presenters. In some ways, it doesnt even matter what the debate is, because people are going to make ridiculous arguments either way.
But its really serious, he adds. Damn serious.
What Weissman does know is that tonights debate is part of Buntports participation in Czech Point Denver, a citywide celebration of Czech culture over the next couple of months. For that, the theater will also bring back its award-winning Kafka on Ice. In the meantime, tonights debate starts at 8 p.m. at Buntport, 717 Lipan Street; tickets run $5 to $7.
