Hosts with a Toast

Can’t do much better than the show’s own tagline to describe the Drunken Bachelor Talk Show: “It’s loaded with comedy and music, but mostly it’s just loaded.” Producer Kevin Hart is an old friend of Lannie Garrett’s, and he put together the first edition of the show back in October as a sort of audition for a spot at her Clocktower Cabaret. “The approach to this talk show came out of what we thought would fit at Lannie’s,” says Hart. “It’s just about the coolest venue in town.”

The show is structured like an old talk show, with hosts Michael Collins and Eric Mather playing twisted Johnny Carson-type roles. They have guests ranging from comedians to musicians to hypnotists. The test run back in October went so well that Lannie asked them to do a regular show. Starting tonight, they’ll perform once a month with new guests and new talking points.

The Drunken Bachelor Talk Show starts tonight at 8 p.m. at Lannie’s Clocktower Cabaret, 1601 Arapahoe Street; subsequent performances will take place on the final Wednesday of each month. Tickets are $15; for more information, visit www.lannies.com.
