Open Door Policy

South Broadway craft and clothing staple Fancy Tiger has new digs, and the store is celebrating with a free grand reopening tonight. The evening will start much like Fancy Tiger's other First Friday Denver Made showcases, featuring local jewelry, bath and beauty products and a print line. Later, DJ Andy Butler of Hercules and Love Affair will play a set. Butler is from Denver but lives in New York now; his band just released its second full-length on London’s Moshi Moshi Records.

The clothing store opened its new location, at 18 South Broadway, last month. “We wanted more space, but it wasn’t so much an inventory issue,” says owner Matthew Brown. “We wanted to be larger so we could cater more to non-retail events. We wanted to have in-stores, we wanted to have DJs come in more, and we wanted a seating area. The store is just another animal now. “

The grand reopening officially starts with a trunk show at 7 p.m.; Andy Butler goes on at 9. More information can be found at www.fancytiger.com.
