I Now Pronounce You Stoked For Life

So, you’ve found the second love of your life, the one who can passably keep up with you on the slopes till death do you part, and now it’s time to put a black diamond on it? Well then, today is your big day. Loveland Ski Area, never shy about loving its own name, is celebrating Valentine’s Day this year with its twentieth annual Mountain Matrimony mass marriage at Ptarmigan Roost Cabin (elevation 12,050 feet) and after-party at the base area.

“We’re expecting as many as eighty couples this year, including some who are coming back to renew their vows after twenty years and will be celebrating a big anniversary with us,” says Loveland spokesman John Sellers. “All the couples get dressed up in their ski wedding attire, and it’s a lot of fun.

It’s pretty much what it sounds like: a bunch of people getting married and celebrating their big day on our mountain,” he adds. “We like to help these couples start things off on the right foot...er...ski. Or snowboard. It’s actually very romantic.”

The ceremony takes place at 11:30 a.m., and the after-party starts at 1:30 p.m. For more information and to pre-register for the “Marry Me & Ski Free” two-for-one lift ticket deal, go to http://skiloveland.com/events/wedding.aspx.
