Electronic music of any experimental stripe has always been filed under the heading of "techno" and sometimes blurred together with "industrial." Meat Beat Manifesto was — and still is — considered by many to be part of the wave of industrial music that was affiliated with the Wax Trax imprint. But in Meat Beat, you also had production heavyweights like Jack Dangers and Mark Pistel, whose presence as producers or outright collaborators on the recordings of other important artists like MC 900 Ft. Jesus and the Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy made this band influential beyond just its excellent — and refreshingly diverse — experimental electronic music. Touring in support of 2010's Answers Come in Dreams, Meat Beat is sure to treat its fans to a visual and aural feast.
