“Closing day is always bittersweet, particularly when we’re marking the end of a season as awesome as this one,” says Loveland spokesman John Sellers. The ski area got more than 500 inches of snow this season, including spring dumps that have left Loveland with its best closing-day conditions in a decade. “We’re going to have most, if not all, of our terrain open,” Sellers says. “We’ve had so much snow this season, I hate to see it end.”

To help bury your end-of-season blues, Loveland will present a live performance by Summit County blues legend Arnie J. Green on the Basin Patio, an annual rite of spring known to involve lots and lots of beer. And while you’re there, you can pick up a 2011-12 sea-son pass for $359 and ski free today — but even without an annual pass, lift tickets are just $46.

“Everybody’s always hooting it up on closing day, and it’s always a great day,” says Sellers. “We had so many powder days this year, I guess it’s hard to complain.”
