The hardest part of going out to dinner is settling on just one entree and since a steady diet of sampler platters can get expensive, theres Feast on the FAX, an evening of dining out that offers a collection of some of the most disparate fare youre likely to find any-where. Now in its sixth year, the evening, lasting from 5 to 9 p.m., is organized by the FAX Partnership, which is basically the chamber of commerce for the stretch of East Colfax between Colorado and Yosemite.
Were trying to make that stretch more of a destination area, making it a better place to live and work and play, says Feast director Jake Flint. Those destinations are Abyssinia Ethiopian, Africana Cafe, Aqua Lounge, Axum Ethiopian, Cake Crumbs Cupcake Truck, the Cork House, Deluxe Burgers Little Orange Rocket, the Elm, Geez Louise!, Oinks BBQ, Phoenician Kabob, Pisco Sour Peruvian, Señor Pepes and Solera. Each restaurant provides samples of what they serve (many also have drink specials), and the event provides shuttle buses to whisk you to your next destination along the Colfax corridor.
Tickets are $25 in advance and $30 the day of the event (kids ages six to ten are $10/$15). You can start the tour at any one of six venues; get details and ticket information at www.thefaxpartnership.com.
