Monkee Business

Tonight, The Monkees bring their irresistible goofiness to the Paramount Theatre stage as part of the group’s 45th Anniversary Tour. The pop-culture icons will be celebrating not only an entire catalogue of chart-topping hits — like “I’m a Believer” and “Pleasant Valley Sun-day” — but the band’s rarities, too.

Though the Monkees’ family-friendly television antics enjoyed a mere two-season run on NBC in the late 1960s, the band has continued to gain new fans over the ensuing decades through the magic of cable syndication.

But it isn’t all due to television popularity: The remaining members have also made dozens of records, both as the Monkees and through solo projects, promising more than enough material for a great live show. Tickets are $45 to $65; doors open at 7 p.m. at the Paramount, 1621 Glenarm Place, and the show begins at 8. For more information or to purchase tickets, go to www.paramountdenver.com or call 303-623-0106.
