The summer series collaboration between Afterhours Anonymous and Mahesh Presents aims to bring top-name DJs to Denver for the first time — and they've certainly hit the mark with Radio Slave. Originally formed in 2000 as a duo comprising Matt Edwards and Serge Santiago, Radio Slave's bootleg electro-house mixes of everyone from Kylie Minogue to Busta Rhymes and Limp Bizkit earned the group props from the beginning. In 2002, Santiago left, and Edwards has been going strong since then; his classic, soulful house, mashed with gritty, minimal techno offerings ("Modena," "Bell Clap Dance," "My Bleep," just to name a few), has been heating up underground dance floors all over the planet. Now based in Berlin, Edwards, whose deejaying career started back in 1992, has spun sets at such powerhouses of electronica as Ministry of Sound and has collaborated with Joel Martin (as Quiet Village) and many others. It'll be a real treat to see him on stage for Spectrum on Saturday, July 2, with Jimmy Maheras from L.A. and DJ Sense from Las Vegas supporting.
