Though its titled Faithful, the premise of Edge Theatre Companys newest production tells a different story. The play opens with a depressed woman named Margaret, who, on the day she plans to commit suicide, finds out that her husband has planned to have her killed so that he can run off to Puerto Rico with his mistress.

We have this theme for the summer called Have an affair this summer, fall in love with live theater, and this show fits so well into the theme, says Rick Yaconis, who plays the hit man and is also Edges executive and artistic director. He was attracted to the play because of its edginess, noting that its got a great mix of high comedy, but theres also some intense emotion. The production (which was penned by film and Broadway actor Chazz Palminteri) boasts a cast of local theater veterans, including director Robert Kramer and actors Lisa DeCaro and Len Matheo as the troubled couple. Their dynamic on stage is excellent, notes Yaconis. Theyre married in real life and playing a married couple; I think that adds a lot to the show.
