The Slave to the Deathmatch isn’t your mama’s neon-spandex-and-aviators kind of smackdown. This time, it’s about blood. Primos Hard-core & Wrestling presents its second annual tournament of brutality and strength tonight, as wrestlers from around the country enter the ring to compete in one of the nation’s only deathmatches. While the championship isn’t truly “to the death,” the audience is in for much more than the usual high-flying flips and staged choke-outs that they’d see at an ordinary wrestling match; here, the contenders can use weapons and serious force.

World-renowned pro wrestler and Japanese deathmatch champ Mick Foley will be the night’s special guest, on hand to talk with fans and sign autographs. Although Slave to the Deathmatch is an all-ages event, it’s pretty high on the violence scale, and a parent must accompany patrons under sixteen.

The doors to Casselman’s Bar & Venue, 2620 Walnut Street, open at 5:30 p.m., and rounds begin shortly after 6, all set to the music of Colorado Springs rap act the North Side Ninjaz. Tickets, $15 to $20, are available at the door or by visiting www.primoswrestling.com.
