Seth Meyers Heads Left In Boulder

Saturday Night Live head writer Seth Meyers seems like the perfect comedian for Boulder. He’s liberal, into politics — Tina Fey’s Sarah Palin impersonations during the 2008 election were supposedly his idea — and the “Weekend Update” host also gave the comedic monologue at this year’s White House Correspondents’ Dinner that mocked Donald Trump (“Trump often appears on Fox, which is ironic, because a fox often appears on Donald Trump’s head”) and the Tea Party (“Mr. President, if your hair gets any whiter, the Tea Party is going to endorse it”).

More About

Plus, Meyers is into weed and is fond of joking to college students about why he performed at Amsterdam’s Boom Chicago, an improv theater, for two years. “It isn’t what you think,” he says in one YouTube video recorded in Boston. Meaningful pause. “I lived in Amsterdam because weed was legal there.”

Luckily, Boulder audiences will be able to afford him. Meyers’s show at the Boulder Theater, 2032 14th Street, comes with the steep price tag of $42.50 to $58, including service fees. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8. Tickets are available at www.bouldertheater.com or via phone at 303-786-7030.
Fri., Sept. 16, 8 p.m., 2011
