More About
The monthly burlesque nights that Burlycute was throwing at Benders Tavern over the past year or so have been a success so much so that now Burlycute is moving from Benders to Bar Standard for (what else would you call it?) Humpday Burlesque. I just feel like people are loving the shows so much, and they tell somebody to catch the next show and its four weeks away, says Burlycute maven and burlesque emcee extraordinaire Reyna Von Vett (aka Cora Vette). And there will be lots of new reasons to head out on Wednesdays, starting with tonights Cora Vettes Humpday Burlesque Show Opening Night. Were trying to build a whole night, Von Vett reveals. We have the space, so why not see what we can get going? That means youll see a classic burlesque and jazz show, followed by a late-night cabaret, Cora Vettes Naughty Bits, starting at 11 p.m. and featuring the Arvada Centers David Nehls on piano while Von Vett sings some of the many (many!) vintage songs shes dug up about sex, drugs and other naughty, uh, bits. And the rotating monthly themes are only going to get crazier: Burlycute is reprising last years Zombielesque show on October 19 and 26 with The Return of Zombielesque. Tickets are $10, or $25 for VIP (buy four VIP tix and get the best table in the house plus a bottle of Nude vodka). But get there early so you dont miss anything. Visit www.coravette.com for tickets and information.
