Have A Happy Crappy Christmas

If you've ever wanted to take a retro trip back to childhood when Christmas was all about construction paper, safety scissors and glitter, or if you're just no-joke broke but industrious, then the Cheap Christmas Crapfare is where you need to be to make gifts for your friends, relatives or the guy at the liquor store up the street. As part of the Museum of Contemporary Art's Black Sheep Fridays, visitor services and shop manager Andy Lynes will lead a cheap, crappy crafting night that will include all of the finest materials.

"Cotton-ball snowmen, clothespin reindeer--and macaroni art," he says. DJ Postman will slap some tunes down, and there will be free eggnog (though you have to pony up for the booze). "No flasks," says Lynes. "Buy the booze here; we have a fine selection of Christmas spirits."

The Cheap Christmas Crapfare at MCA, 1485 Delgany Street, from 7 to 9 p.m., preceded by happy hour from 5 to 7 p.m. Admission is $5, and the museum stays open until 10. For more information, check out www.mcadenver.org.
