MySpace is dead, but Brokencyde lives on as a walking, shit-talking cockroach of the hair scene's past. The youngish crunk punks from Albuquerque still rep the underbelly of social networking with songs about sex and game, combining drippy synths with cartoonish voices to create a style that may or may not be a joke. Either way, fans of the neon-colored dirty mouths don't care to see a difference, scooping up mixtapes and EPs from a band that has toured relentlessly since its 2006 inception. The title of its 2011 release, Guilty Pleasure, acknowledges what the group means to a lot of listeners: Though often too ridiculous to consider appreciating publicly, Brokencyde's toilet humor makes you want to dance, fight, fuck and vomit, all at the same time.
