The idea is to incorporate yoga into your skiing and snowboarding day by holding pre- and post-slope classes to limber you up and then wind you down. The first yoga session is this morning at 8 a.m., to prepare you for a full day on the mountain; that's followed by a restorative apres-ski yoga class at 4:30 p.m., then dinner at 7 p.m. On Sunday, participants will greet the day with another 8 a.m. yoga class before hitting the slopes -- or heading home.
"In terms of balancing, you're going to need to work those core muscles and the legs -- the quads and the hamstrings," notes Bakersmith. "We do a lot of spine stabilization techniques to make sure you're standing upright and positioning yourself correctly. Doing the same actions over and over can cause injury, so we're making sure we're stretching and warming the muscles we need to."
