Lemmy Kilmister is a living legend: He was a roadie for Jimi Hendrix and an integral member of space-rock pioneers Hawkwind; he got kicked off an airplane for refusing to give up his whiskey at the last minute and has done more drugs than anyone except for maybe Keith Richards or Hunter S. Thompson and still lived. And it bears noting that when Lemmy plays the incredibly demanding music of Motörhead, he makes it look supremely easy. Seeing this band live is like catching hold of a speeding train: exhilarating and filled with danger. Lemmy's autobiography, White Line Fever, is filled with an unexpectedly wry sense of humor coupled with a zest for life — traits that clearly inform his songwriting.
