If a winter without cycling has made you stir-crazy, the end is in sight: Boulder County's BoCo Loco Bike Bash is the perfect tune-up for the busy calendar of race events ahead. "The Bike Bash has turned into a crazy, fun annual spring event," says spokeswoman Kathy Borgais. "We're one of the earliest rides of the season, and our motto is 'Spring into shape and support a great cause.'"
The Bash includes non-competitive 8-mile, 34-mile, 60-mile or 100-mile scenic routes around Boulder County. Registration for the eight-mile family course is $55 in advance or $65 the day of the event; the longer courses are $75 in advance or $85 on site, and dis-counts are available for teams of five or more riders. Registration for kids twelve and under on any of the routes is $15.
The BoCo Loco -- costumes encouraged -- has an open-start window from 6:30 to 10 a.m. at the Gerald Stazio Softball Fields in Boulder, 2445 Stazio Drive; rides will be followed by an afternoon party and health expo. For registration and more information, visit www.bocoloco.org.
