Olympians Unleashed

It may not be more popular than next month’s Olympic Games in London, but the Purina Pro Plan Incredible Dog Challenge — aka the doggy Olympics — will give local canine athletes at the top of their game a chance to show off their skills. Tails will be wagging, Frisbees will be flying and cats will be scurrying as dogs compete to win in events like diving, agility courses, freestyle flying disc, the flyball relay and a head-to-head weave-pole competition. Jack Russell Terriers will represent the small sprightly breed during the renowned hurdle races.

More About

“Most people can appreciate any dog performing an incredible feat. However, what makes the Purina Pro Plan Incredible Dog Challenge so appealing to watch is that the dogs enjoy every minute of it,” says professional dog trainer and events judge Lourdes Edlin.

The challenge starts at 11 a.m. near 17th Avenue and Colorado Boulevard in City Park. Admission is free, and all events are open to the public. Qualifying trials will be held the day before. Visit www.barknetwork.com for more information and to watch a live streaming of the event on Saturday.
