Unwined and Dined

“If you never pictured yourself as someone who’d go to a wine event, you should still consider coming to Unwined,” says Club W founder Xander Oxman. “It’s going to be more of a party than a wine tasting.” That’s in line with Club W’s purpose, which is to introduce wine to a younger crowd more interested in DJs and dancing than Wine Spectator and the convoluted terms that accompany wine tasting. “We want to make wine more accessible and more enjoyable for people without browbeating them with wine jargon and serving them $200 bottles of wine that they’ll never buy.”

You’ll enjoy food from a dozen of the city’s best food trucks, DJs like Clay Meador and Peter Black spinning tunes, and wine, of course — but even that isn’t quite what you’d expect. “Most of the producers and importers represented at the event will be there in person,” Oxman says, “so it won’t be a distributor or a local sales rep. You’ll be able to really talk to the guy responsible for putting the juice in the bottle.”
