The Book of Mormon sparks local pride, ticket hunt

Scene and herd: Is America great, or what? We've watched with awe as the careers of Trey Parker and Matt Stone have taken off — from their days at the University of Colorado writing a musical about Alfred Packer to the debut of South Park to the movie Team America to the creation of The Book of Mormon. And it all came together Sunday night, when Mormon opened in Denver, the first stop on its road show — an evening that started with desperate, well-heeled theater fans holding up fingers on 14th Street as they looked for tickets, and ended with Parker and Stone on stage for the curtain call, with Parker in his trademark Denver Broncos shirt. They've said they want to see John Elway in the audience.

C'mon, Number 7: Take a chance on some Mormon heaven.
