Like this city’s restaurant scene, Westword’s Dish is always evolving — and improving. Our eighteenth incarnation, set for 7:30 to 11 p.m. on Thursday, September 6, not only features a stunning setting — the Sculpture Park at the Denver Performing Arts Complex — but an impressive array of restaurants. “The Denver diner’s evolution has grown exponentially over the past five years,” says Robert Thompson, whose Le Grand Bistro & Oyster Bar was just a month old when it was featured at last year’s Dish and will be back again this round. “Our local chefs have been on equal footing with those in much larger cities and food scenes for a while, but now the diners themselves are with us, demanding that we remain creative as owners and chefs and push Denver’s food scene faster and further. It’s been amazing to be part of these recent years.”
In addition to Le Grand, restaurants and food trucks that will be offering samples at Dish include Brava! Pizzeria, Cafe|Bar, Cellar Wine Bar, Charlie’s Ice Cream Social, City, O’ City, Colt & Gray, Corner Office, Crimson Canary, El Chingon Mexican Bistro, El Taco de Mexico, Finley’s Pub, Fire on the Mountain, Frijoles Colorado Cuban Cafe, Interstate Kitchen & Bar, Inventing Room, Juicy Burgers & Fries, Jonesy’s EatBar, Lala’s Wine Bar + Pizzeria, Lucky Pie Pizza, Manneken Frites, My Favorite Muffin, Polished Tavern, Rooster & Moon, Second Home Kitchen + Bar, Sexy Pizza, Waffle Brothers, WaterCourse, Coaches Scoop Truck, Comida, Crock Spot, Hey PB&J, Mestizo’s, Biker Jim’s Gourmet Dogs and Basic Kneads. And the music that night will be just as amazing, with performances by Chain Sta-tion and the Swayback. (Dave Beegle will play at the VIP party that starts at 6 p.m. and features food from Tony’s Market and Central Bistro.)
