Unleash Your Dog’s Desires

Is your dog troubled? Does he bark incessantly, nip at guests or destroy prized possessions? Maybe he’s just bored. Fix that problem by taking him to the regional version of the National Dog Agility Championships, which might be the ideal outlet for your pup’s excess energy.

“Your dog wants to please you, and he wants to do something fun, and agility courses give him a job to do,” notes event organizer Jim Mills, who once took on a troubled Jack Russell terrier who’d been through six homes in three weeks and turned him into a focused, calm agility champion. “Agility gives them a release and challenges their mind to allow them to become smarter — which helps with obedience and the overall growth of a dog.”
