Max Cooper spends his Afterhours at NORAD this Saturday

The world of electronic music is lucky that Max Cooper, a computational biologist who earned his Ph.D. at Nottingham University, decided to pursue a life behind the decks. Before 2010, music was an evenings-and-weekends gig for Cooper, who was working as a post-doctoral genetics researcher at University College London. These days, the techno producer and DJ makes his music all day, every day. It should come as no surprise, then, that the Serie Trilogy is one of Cooper's best-known creative efforts: The tracks are each inspired by a different scientific or mathematical concept and are accompanied by related videos (created by animator Whiskas Fx). His production skills pull from areas of the brain that many of us haven't used since high school, and his hypnotic, sweeping live sets are known to draw even the most reluctant of dancers onto the floor. He's embarking on his first-ever tour of the United States, and we've been fortunate enough to land a date here in Denver; Afterhours Anonymous will host Cooper with Andrew S and Hoang on Saturday, October 6, at NORAD.
